**Definition:** LegitScript certification is a third-party review of a healthcare merchant's licensing, legal history, practices and advertising; Google requires it of US telemedicine advertisers, and Meta of online pharmacies and telehealth providers.

# What is LegitScript certification?

A telehealth brand that wants to buy search or social ads for prescription care meets LegitScript before it meets an ad reviewer. LegitScript reviews the merchant behind the website, and the ad platforms rely on its decision. Cuvo Health's own website is LegitScript certified, and Cuvo files and manages certification for the brands it operates.

LegitScript certification is a third-party review of a healthcare merchant's website and the business behind it. LegitScript's Healthcare Certification standards cover registration and compliance (licensing and adherence to prescription and telemedicine law), internal practices (disclosure of legal or regulatory history from the past 10 years), external practices (patient services, affiliates and partners, privacy protections and valid prescriptions), and transparency and advertising. Google allows US telemedicine providers to advertise when they are certified by LegitScript and by Google, and Meta requires online pharmacies and telehealth providers to be actively LegitScript certified before they request its authorization. Cuvo Health's website, www.cuvo.co, has been LegitScript certified since October 16, 2026, and Cuvo files and manages certification for the brands it operates.

## 01. Why does a telehealth brand need LegitScript certification?

Because paid acquisition for prescription care runs through it. A telehealth brand cannot run prescription-service ads on Google in the United States or on Meta without it, and LegitScript says its certification is also trusted by Microsoft, TikTok, LinkedIn, Netflix, Nextdoor, Yahoo, Visa and Mastercard. Certification is what those platforms check; it is not an endorsement or a measure of clinical quality, and an individual ad is still reviewed against each platform's own policies after the merchant is certified.

## 02. Who holds the certification: the brand or the platform?

The merchant that advertises holds it, website by website: LegitScript requires each domain to be certified to carry its own application and annual fee. A platform's certification of its own site therefore does not extend to a brand's domain. On Cuvo, a brand that runs ads holds its own certification, and Cuvo prepares, files and manages the application on every plan, expedited as part of Grow and Enterprise setup.

## 03. How long does LegitScript certification take?

LegitScript sells expedited processing that starts review within 2 business days of submission, for $2,500 per application on top of the $975 fee; the total time then depends on the review itself, which the cost and timeline guide linked below walks through stage by stage. Cuvo files the application for its brands and expedites it on Grow and Enterprise setup.
